Associate Lab Chemist

Profile

SUMMARY: Responsibilities will vary from performing one procedure/work instruction to several analytical, microbiological or quality system procedures / work instructions in a food safety laboratory. Precision and accuracy in performance of the work instructions & data collection is essential; must be able to maintain ISO records for process control and comply with the quality system and safety requirements. Initial proficiency testing must be passing, and competency will be verified at least annually thereafter. Team member will be required to demonstrate proficiency and growth after training; other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Education: College degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science. College Science classes with working laboratory experience preferred.

Computer Skills: General knowledge of Windows Microsoft Office Applications.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal & written communication skills

Supervisory: none

Travel: none

POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Entry level position, no reimbursement available for interview travel or moving expenses. Primarily an A-shift position. Occasional weekend or evening call in may be required.

1st preference given to applicants with a degree. 2nd preference is to applicants with education and experience in relationship to Chemistry and or Microbiology.
