We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Research Associate to contribute to the Gene Therapy Analytical Development group with a focus on cell and molecular assays. Title will be commensurate with relevant experience in analytical development.

This researcher will:

  • Help establish **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. as a leader in gene therapy analytical science by applying innovative processes, procedures and technologies in the development of best-in-class testing strategies

  • Collaborate with analytical groups in other **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Franchises to develop best practices and to further enhance a center of analytical excellence

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Job Responsibilities

  • Work independently or under supervision of a senior scientist to develop and optimize analytical assays to support the Gene Therapy Franchise

  • Independently conduct assays for both qualitative and quantitative analysis of proteins using a variety of molecular cell biology, biochemistry, or biophysical techniques

  • Perform bioassays for determining product potency (vector transgene expression)

  • Analyze data, record results into ELN/LIMS in a timely manner, and write technical reports summarizing data

  • Formulate and test buffers and materials needed for routine assays

  • Aseptic maintenance of cell cultures

  • Assist in authoring SOPs, reports and other technical documents

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular/cellular biology or related field

  • Minimum 3+ (MS) or 5+ (BS) years of relevant experience

  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to strict protocols and SOPs with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Hands-on experience or exposure to cell biology and/or biochemical techniques, including:

  • Mammalian adherent cell culture procedures and aseptic techniques

  • Quantitative (RT-)qPCR, cell-based potency assays, and ELISA, HTRF, and/or plate based enzymatic assays

  • Experience in working in an analytical development / process analytics setting

  • Experience with data analysis tools and software packages such as GraphPad Prism, SAS JMP or PLA 3.0

  • Working knowledge of multiparameter curve fitting, EC50 calculation using analytical software

  • Strong desire to learn multiple techniques and willingness to provide support as required to meet team goals and deadlines

  • Significant attention to detail and accuracy in following protocols

  • Demonstrated ability to be highly productive in a fluid, fast-paced and teamwork environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with digital PCR

  • Experience in CMC-Development or GMP/QC setting
